Welcome to the Practical Health Psychology Team!
We’re delighted to have you on board as part of the Practical Health Psychology (PHP) team! Below is an overview of your role and responsibilities as a National Editor.
We aim to recruit one editor per country or language to help bring the latest Health Psychology insights to practitioners across Europe and the whole world. Each National Editor plays a vital role in making research accessible and applicable by translating our blog posts into clear, plain language.
Your role as a National Editor
- Monthly translations
We ask you to translate one blog post per month into your language. The translation should use plain, practitioner-friendly language that ensures clarity and accessibility.
We do not use professional translation services, because we believe health psychologists are best positioned to understand and accurately convey complex psychological ideas in simple, applicable terms.
- Delegating translations (optional)
You are welcome to delegate the translation to a trusted colleague, student, or collaborator. If so, the final version will be published under both your name and theirs. However, we ask that you review and approve all translations to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Use of AI tools
You may use AI tools (such as DeepL, Google Translate, or ChatGPT) to assist with translation or first drafts. However, please ensure that all translations are carefully reviewed and edited by you before submission. AI-generated text often requires refinement to capture the nuances of psychological concepts and to ensure the language is appropriate for a practitioner audience.
We trust our National Editors to apply their expertise to ensure that the final translation is accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate.
- Distributing the Blog
Please help us share the translated blog posts within your professional networks. Our goal is to ensure that even those who don’t speak English can access and benefit from evidence-based Health Psychology insights.
Editorial Process and Contributions
The PHP blog is by invitation only, and the editorial team selects topics and authors for each post. However, if you would like to write a blog post yourself or suggest a potential contributor, feel free to contact the Head Editors to discuss your idea.
